We monitor the continuous production process

In connection with the transition from the spread of the Kovid-19 epidemic to the level of public preparedness, the decisions and directions of the National Security Committee, the Government, and the Special Commission of Orkhon aimag have been issued and implemented by Erdenet Mining Corporation. D.Munkhbold, Chief of the OHS Department and Disaster Protection Emergency Management Headquarters, provided the latest information on this issue.

From the day the Covid-19 infection case was registered in our aimag, the Erdenet plant started to organize human resources and labor to protect and prevent its employees. What kind of arrangements is being made in this regard?

According to the State Special Commission and the Government’s resolution, the Emergency Disaster Protection Headquarters of the factory followed the direction of the Aimag Special Commission. They implemented the first steps to protect its employees from risks. Also, we ensure the continuous operation of production during strict quarantine, guarantee uninterrupted inventory used in the technological process, and monitor the supply of necessary technical materials and their supply daily. Measures have been taken to remotely employ 80 percent of the General Administration Building II staff, reduce working hours, and stop the movement of some vehicles to avoid overcrowding. Within the framework of labor organization measures, mothers with children aged 0-12, single fathers and 462 pregnant women, 343 employees of suspended social workshops were provided with allowances (paid) leave, 316 employees were given annual leave, compensated and sent electronically remotely. It employs 1,009 employees and 47 part-time employees. As a result, a total of 2,177 duplicate employees were provided with remote work, paid leave, and annual leave. However, 4411-5020 employees are usually working.

-All employees were involved in the surveillance analysis. What was the result?

-Organization analysis was organized in cooperation with the Emergency Headquarters, Erdenet Sanatorium Complex, Contract Police Department, Emergency Situations, Internal Troops, and Auto Transportation Workshop. The Accelerated Coronavirus Surveillance Surveillance Test was performed in two phases, on November 20-27 and December 1-5, for 8,486 employees. Of these, 7,646 were factory workers, 248 were contractors, 364 were customers, and 228 were family members. Of these, 699 samples were sent for PCR analysis, and no infection was detected. As of today, a total of 118 factory workers are under isolation and observation. There are 16 people in isolation and observation facilities, 2 in NCCD and infectious disease hospitals, and 100 in-home words.

-To restrict the movement in the production zone, the routes for workers to enter and exit have been included in the direction of four zones. How is the organization done?

– Order No. A / 666 of the General Director of Erdenet Mining Corporation dated November 19, 2020 on “Establishment of a special safety zone for disinfection and protection” and Order No. A / 666 of the General Director of Erdenet Mining Corporation dated December 1, 2020 / Order No. 682 and the First Deputy Director General and the “Temporary Procedure for Establishment of Special Disinfection and Protection Safety Zones and Traffic Regulation” approved by the Annex to the Chief Engineer’s Resolution No. 166 of November 20, 2020 are divided into four safety zones. . As a result, workers travel between work and home, and the movement in and out of the factory post is more organized and clear. It is constantly monitored and inter-regional arrangements are being made in accordance with regulations.

-Isn’t sterilization the most critical issue at this time?

-Yes… Sterilization is fully established until disinfection. According to the approved schedule, the operational headquarters’ sterilization and disinfection team will carry out the work of Erdenet Mining Corporation’s open pit mine, trucking workshop, concentrator plant’s technology workers’ working and household rooms, warehouse and structural units of the Transport and Logistics Center. The inventory is being disinfected, and the licensing process is being monitored. Also, workers’ buses and public transport are sprayed with disinfectant solution three times a day on weekdays, twice a day on weekends, at each of the structural units’ facilities, such as busy points and 24 contracted police posts. Detailed plans are underway to limit the number of employees per bus to 35, increase the number of convoys, pay for overtime, pay for fuel, transport shift workers safely, and disinfect workers’ canteens.

-How do you control the quality of food and ingredients of workers?

The focus is on making changes to the menu and boosting the immune system. Hot foodservice companies’ quality and hygiene in the industrial zone are being monitored, and measures are being taken to eliminate any shortcomings. Besides providing food tips and instructions to employees to support their immunity, a “Covid-1.5” floor sticker was placed in the space to remind them of the restaurant’s service features. The practice of wearing masks regularly, washing hands with disinfectants, not shaking hands with others, and keeping a distance of 1.5-2 meters between people are practiced. For all of this, we are stockpiling 37 types of disinfectants and protective equipment and transferring them from some of the necessary workshops to replenishment reserves.

-Health organizations recommend that peace of mind is the most critical factor in preventing Covid-19 infection. How do you pay attention to this?

A Psychological Counseling and Information Team works at the Emergency Headquarters to provide emotional support and record-keeping to workers and their families in solitary confinement. During the coronavirus epidemic, the staff was asked to share their “Psychological Conditions” with us in an electronic or paper format. So far, about 500 workers have been surveyed. It is concluded that the measures to promote peace of mind and support the immune system have been effective and innovative.
