Also, on the 23rd of this month, a temporary heavy rain fell in the capital, causing a flood situation. If it rains more than 50 mm in a three-hour period, it is considered a disaster. At that time, 26-86 mm of rain fell, which means that the scale of the disaster has been reached.
From today, it is expected to heat up from the southwest of the western province. As of yesterday, it reached 40 degrees in Shinjinst Sum of Bayankhongor province. “This situation will continue for six days in Gobi Provinces.”
Precipitation forecast:
- On July 30, light rain in the mountainous areas of Khangai Khuvsgul.
- On July 31, temporary heavy rains in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai and Khuvsgul.
- On August 1, a little rain in some parts of the Western Provinces and in the western part of the Central Provinces.
- On August 2, heavy rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of the Central, Eastern and Gobi provinces.
During the great heat:
- 7-12 degrees at night and 24-29 degrees during the day in mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai and Khuvsgul.
- 22-27 degrees at night and 37-42 degrees during the day in the Govi region.
- 19-24 degrees at night and 33-38 degrees during the day in the depressions of the great mountain ranges, the northern part of the Gobi regions, Orkhon and Selenge basins.
- In other areas, it will reach 14-19 degrees at night and 29-34 degrees during the day.
Continuing, he added, “In the coming days, it will be hot in most parts of Mongolia, and the rains after that are expected to be watery. In other words, there is a possibility of flooding.”
