M.Oyunchimeg: The quarantine is imposed, but the focus is on NCCD, Bayanzurkh Hospital, and Enkhsaran Sanatorium
December 23, 2020A meeting of the ad hoc committee was held today to discuss and monitor the law’s implementation on prevention, control, and reduction of the coronavirus epidemic’s social and economic impacts every month.
During the meeting, MPs stressed the need to improve hospitals’ internal conditions and pay more attention to infection control regimes.
For example, MP B. Beisen said, “Doctors and medical staff are worried about getting infected. Sick people go to the hospital. We need to pay attention to whether the infection control regime is being violated or a lack of protection. ”
In response, the Minister of Health, T. Munkhsaikhan, said, “The causes of infections in hospitals that provide care are different. The NCCD was infected by doctors and medical staff providing care to infected people. Such cases are high internationally. Our country is below average, but we are doing a lot to reduce the risk. We are focusing on creating a green zone for doctors and medical staff to rest and bathing. The test was performed at the Bayanzurkh District General Hospital, which provided treatment and services, but due to an infected person’s arrival. There are no cases of infection due to a lack of protective clothing. ”
MP M. Oyunchimeg raised the issue of poor sanitation and internal conditions in hospitals. He said, “Most of the money will be spent on improving public and private hospitals’ internal conditions and purchasing the necessary equipment. Today, 55 people were diagnosed at Bayanzurkh district hospital. The situation with one bathroom there is difficult. The internal situation is not easy. There are cold and organizational issues. It is impossible not to take immediate action and replace the people. The NCCD is transferring them to the Military Hospital. Then the military hospital will become a hotbed. In the case of outdated housing, there is an urgent need for adequate funding and allocation. We impose a quarantine, but the focus is on the NCCD, Bayanzurkh District General Hospital, and Enkhsaran Sanatorium. ”
Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Special Commission Ya. Sodbaatar said, “Infections in hospitals are a concern. A person from the Bayanzurkh district hospital who tested positive for the virus has previously tested negative for two tests. There are issues with hospital infection control. Therefore, we are working on this issue and conducting inspections. There are issues of responsibility for public hospitals and demands for private hospitals. Bayanzurkh District General Hospital was privatized in 1998 through management privatization. We spend foreign loans and aid only in the health sector. Because hospitals have infection control regimes, it is possible to maintain the occupants after being treated. That’s why the NCCD is relocating people. The NCCD was closed for ten months. Therefore, some parts are being vacated, and damaged equipment is being repaired. ”
