“WARNING NOT TO DRINK ALCOHOL AND LOSE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM”
D. NARANGEREL, Head of Public Relations, Ministry of Health:
-In the last 24 hours, 13 new approved cases were registered nationwide. It decreased by 19 points from the previous day. A total of 411,142 people were involved in laboratory surveillance nationwide, and more than 2,600 health care workers are working 24 hours a day. The virus was not detected in 101 drivers of long-distance transport at Gashuunsukhait port in Umnugovi aimag. A total of 8,357 people called the seven hotlines for advice.
The pandemic continues to spread around the world. Outbreaks are exceptionally high in China and Russia. Mongolians living in South Korea and Japan are also advised to protect themselves from infection and support their immunity. Recently, regular ventilation and cleaning should be done, and the surface should first be washed and wiped with warm soapy water. Let me warn you that everyone living in the capital city is at risk. Alcohol consumption can weaken the immune system and aggravate the disease.
“1804 CITIZENS DETERMINED TO BE CLOSE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE CAPITAL”
Deputy Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency, Colonel B.UUGANBAYAR:
-There are 1564 people in 17 isolation observation posts in the capital city. There are 16 isolation posts and 153 people in the area. A total of 1,717 people are isolated nationwide. Professional organizations jointly provided training to resident doctors and police officers working in the isolation ward. A working group was set up to prepare the detention center and approved a temporary procedure to be followed. We’ve done this before. Citizens’ complaints related to isolation are being received. In December, 507 people were flown on four charter flights from Frankfurt and Japan. During the isolation, the issue of the Holly Day Inn hotel was resolved and normalized yesterday. Subsequently, those who became infected and treated at the NCCD continued to be isolated for more than seven days in a 300-bed hospital in Khan-Uul district. Isolation and home delivery are arranged without contact with other people. As of today, 1804 people have been identified as close contacts in the capital city. Observation points were established in 12 locations in the Bayanzurkh district. There is one point in the Songinokhairkhan district. They improved camera surveillance in the isolation ward. We are working to receive and eliminate any violations promptly. As we move to universal readiness, infection control regimes need to be strictly adhered to.
“TWO OF THE INFECTIOUS FOCUSES IN SIX AIMAGS ARE CONTROLLED”
Here are the answers to the journalists’ questions.
-How many Covid-19 sites registered in Mongolia have been taken under control? Also, can you tell us about the Covid-19 mutation that has been reported in the UK?
A.AMBASELMAA: Currently, there are outbreaks in Ulaanbaatar and six aimags in Mongolia. As of today, no infections have been reported in Govisumber and Arkhangai aimags since December 1. Citizens who may have been infected during the strict quarantine will be tested. No cases have been reported in other animals in recent days, but the monitoring period has not yet ended. All those who have been discharged from the hospital in connection with the new Bayanzurkh district hospital since December 8 are being tested. Eight people who were hospitalized at the hospital were infected between the 11th and 15th of this month. Their close contacts have been isolated since yesterday. Probably a factor as to why they’re doing so poorly.
D.NARANGEREL: There are reports that the newly mutated Covid-19 is spreading rapidly in the UK. European countries are conducting a detailed study in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
-How is the situation in the Bayanzurkh district? How is the infection control regime maintained?
D.NARANGEREL: Cooperation between health organizations is essential during a pandemic. Currently, the number of doctors and specialists is average, but we will discuss human resources and medical care in the future.
B.UUGANBAYAR: There is a problem of congestion at the Erlian border checkpoint in China and traffic jams. The emergency headquarters has contacted the Special Commission in Zamyn-Uud to increase the number of vehicles stuck in traffic, and about 40 cars are entering the area every day. As of today, the problems have been reduced. Professional organizations are paying attention to.
